Nanga Parbat Base Camp and Patundas Trek

Nanga Parbat the Naked Mountain, which lies in the West End of Himalayan range up above the Indus George, at an alleviation of 8126m, rising by 7mm every year faster then the other part of the Himalayan chain, here’re the Sharpest elevation deference’s found any, where on earth 6.5 vertical Kilometers from the summit into the adjacent Indus George, and the mountains Sheer unbroken, 4000 m South wall, The trek starts from Tato village to Fairy Meadows, Beyal camp and base camp back to Tato in an altitude of 3010 to 3050m.
Patundas situated in the upper Hunza Valley between the Batura glacier and Passu glacier at an altitude of 4170m, it’s a climb of 1500 m the moraine of Passu glacier. In a high point surrounded by high peaks of Shisper 7619m Passu Peak 7388m, Baltar Peak 7431m, and Batura one 7885m, Karoon Koh 7458m, Dastagil SAR, and Many 6000 m peak around you. The trek starts from Borit Lake of Gulkin village to Passugar, Luzdur, through summer pastures, beautiful high meadows with limestones.

Detailed Itinerary

Day-01: Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Welcome at Islamabad airport, and transfer to hotel. After refreshment proceed for city tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which includes famous Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian, Pakistan monument, Damen Koh, Lok Versa, Museum, Rawalpindi old bazaar, Raja Bazaar.

Day-02 Drive form Islamabad to Chilas

Drive to Naran 6-7 hours, 239 km, after lunch continue drive to Chilas 3-4 hours 113.3 km via Babusar Pass 4,173 m.

Day-03: From Chilas to Fairy Meadows

Drive to Raikot Bridge one hour, Jeep transfer to Tato village 15km, one hour. We start our trek from Tato village to Fairy Meadows for 2-3 hours 3306m, 5.5km. Have a Spectacular view of Nanga Parbat 8,125m, Raikot Peak 7,070m and Ganalo Peak 6,608m. Over night in huts

Day-04: Trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp

Excursion to Nanga Parbat base camp 4200m, evening trek back to Fairy Meadows. Nanga Parbat is one of the eight-thousanders. An immense, dramatic peak rising far above its surrounding terrain, Nanga Parbat is also a notoriously difficult climb. Nanga Parbat was first climbed, via the Rakhiot Flank (East Ridge), on July 3, 1953 by Austrian climber Hermann Buhl, a member of a German-Austrian team

Day-05: Trek to Jiliper Peak BC & Fairy Meadows

Full day excursion to Jiliper Peak base camp, evening trek back to Fairy Meadows.
Here you have a closeup view of Ganalo Peak and panoramic views of other peaks of Nanga Parbat including the main Peak Nanga Parbat. Overnight in Huts

Day-06 Fairy Meadows to Borith Lake

Trek down to Tato village 2-3 hours and drive to Borith Lake (Hunza) 6-7 hours. En-route stop at junction point of three great mountain ranges meet, the Karakorum, Himalaya and Hindukush, at Thalichi for photography from Nanga Parbat 8,126m and at Rakaposhi view point for photography and refreshment. Overnight in tents.

Day-07: Borith Lake and Trek to Passuagar

After breakfast we start our trek for 3 – 4 hours walk. We cross the hot, dry ridge to Passuagar pasture, in the ablation valley on the south side of Passu Glacier. Near the sheperd huts we establish our camp. Altitude: 3,210 m Accommodation: Tents Meals: BLD

Day-08: Trek from Passuagar to Luzdher

Trek to Luzdher 3-4 hours. Today we cross Passu white glacier, with sections of some crevasses in beginning and end also huge boulders. Luzdher camp is at the base of Patundas meadows; while cross Passu glacier especially in the beginning and at the end our valued clients has to be rope up just for safety precautions. There are no crevasses in middle of the glacier. Have nice view of Passu peak, Shishper peak, Ultar SAR and Popdan peak etc. Altitude: 3,660m Accommodation: Tents Meals: BLD

Day-09: Trek from Luzdher to Patundas Pass

Trek to Patundas Pass 4-5 hours 4100m. Today its Steep trek to Patundas Pass, a meadow at the crest of a small hill, this brings you the fascinating area of upper Hunza. The highlight being Patundas Meadows 4575m.a vantage point, which offers views of an ocean of peaks: Shisper 7611m, Dastagil SAR 7885m, Momhil SAR 7343m, Rakaposhi 7788m and many more. Day-10: Free day at Patundas Pass

Free day at Patundas Pass or excursion to Passu and Shishper peak base camp. Altitude: 4,100m Accommodation: Tents Meals: BLD

Day-11: Trek from Patundas to KKH & Passu

Trek down to Passu and transfer to hotel Altitude: 2,400 m Accommodation: Hotel Meals: BLD

Day-12: Passu and Karimabad

Morning visit Gulkin village, Gulmit village, Passu Passu village, Hussani village and Hussani suspension bridge. Afternoon drive to Karimaba, arrive Karimabad and transfer to hotel.

Day-13: Altit- Baltit Forts and Duiker

Morning visit Baltit Fort 700 Years and Altit Fort 900 Years old. Afternoon afternoon drive to Duiker valley thirty minutes arrive and transfer to hotel. An evening walk through the village to Holy shrines, today you will have opportunity to see many local people working in the fields.
(Duiker valley is viewpoint to see the sunset and Sunrise over the beautiful mountains in the surroundings of Hunza). Duiker valley (Roof of the world), have a spectacular view down to Karakorum Highway and awesome views of Golden peak 7027 m, Rakaposhi 7788 m, Ultar Sar 7388 m, Diran Peak 7266 m, Lady Finger 6000 m and Disteghil Sar 7885 m.

Day: 14: Drive from Karimabad to Naran

Drive to Naran 355km via Babusar Pass 4173m. En-route stop at various viewpoints for photography and refreshment. Babusar Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.173 m (13,691 ft) above the sea level. The pass is the highest point in the Kaghan Valley, Pakistan. The pass connects the Kaghan Valley via the Thak Nala with Chilas on the Karakoram Highway. It’s one of the famous hair pinned roads in the world. Karakoram highway is the 8th wonder of the world.

Day-15: Drive from Naran to Islamabad

Drive to Islamabad 6-7 hours 239 km, en-route visit Taxila museum and historical sites. Taxila: Most of the archaeological sites of Taxila (600 BC to 500 AD) are located around Taxila museum. For over one thousand-year Taxila remained famous as a centre of learning Gandhara art of sculpture, architecture, education, and Buddhism in the days of Buddhist glory. There are over 50 archaeological sites scattered in a radius of 30 km around Taxila. In Taxila visit archaeological sites of Jaulian, Mohra Moradu, and Sirkap. Later visit. Taxila museum: A museum comprising various sections with rich archaeological finds of Taxila. It is one of the best and well-maintained site museums of Pakistan.

Day-16: Fly Back Home

Transfer to Islamabad airport for return flight.
