FAQ’s
We are natives of Hunza, our head office is in Islamabad, Pakistan and we have liaison offices in Karimabad Hunza and Skardu.
Ideally, you should set a budget and share it with us, so that we can give you a realistic, fun, and memorable itinerary for a price you are comfortable with. If you are confused to decide which tour/trek is best and suitable for you, you can write to us and we will guide you accordingly as per your requirements.
To participate in one of our challenges or adventure holidays you need to be 18 years old or older. If you are under 18, you may still be able to participate but subject to being accompanied by a parent or guardian or a responsible adult. However, each child’s parent/guardian must make their own judgment on the suitability of the challenge and provide written permission for their child to participate. Please discuss your individual requirements with us.
Hunza Guides provide discounts for both groups and individuals. keeping in view the budget of each individual we do not publish fixed rates unlike other companies and you will find that we are the most affordable and yet best in town. We have no hidden charges and our treks (even tours) are all-inclusive (domestic flights, hotels, meals, camping gear, porters, guides, etc). Hunza Guides understands the level of comfort our clients want when away from home. However, we do design custom trips for individuals/groups with low budgets.
Hunza Guides offers a wide range of Family Adventures all over Pakistan. The minimum age (for Family trips) varies depending on destination, and Hunza Guides has set minimum ages to ensure that the included activities suit each age range. Additionally, you’ll notice that some of the more adventurous destinations have a higher minimum age. i.e trekking in Baltistan region, Baltoro, k2 base camp trek, snow lake Biafo Hisper trek, Concordia tTrek and many more in the region.
Good things come in small packages, which is why we keep our group sizes down. This means we’re small enough to remain flexible as we thread our way through communities without intimidating the locals. On most of our trips, you’ll be part of an intimate group of 12-16 people, though our group sizes are on average 10 people.
While we can’t tell you who your leader is one month prior to departure, we can tell you they will be awesome. Mostly our leaders/Guides are professional climbers and experts in their regions, same because they’ve been travelling there for years, others because they’re local to the region and can’t wait to show you around.
As a solo traveler, you will be paired up with another passenger of the same gender as per your passport information. If you’re not comfortable sharing a room with someone of the same gender, you also have the choice to pay for a single supplement (available on the majority of our trips). Just ask your Hunza Guides travel specialist at the time of booking. we’ll arrange the rooming configuration accordingly.
We will try our very hardest to accommodate all dietary requirements but in some out-of-the-way places it can be very difficult to guarantee. We will let you know if there are places on your itinerary where this is the case. Please let us know at the time of booking of any food requirements or allergies and we’ll pass the information onto your leader. It is also a great idea to bring a card with your dietary requirements written in the local language for those times you are eating away from the group. Just ask your Hunza Guides travel specialist at the time of booking. we’ll arrange the rooming configuration accordingly.
we always recommend that passengers check with their local embassy as visa rules can change without warning. Embassy websites in your home country will always have information about requirements, visa costs and will provide the required forms. If you are uncomfortable with the visa process, you can visit a travel agent who can arrange these for you at a cost.
Please contact the relevant local embassy, or visit a travel agent, to organise your visa/s. The ‘visa section’ of you Essential Trip Information will include information about what you need to send to us (scanned passports, employment letters etc.).
