First Winter Ascent of an 8000-M Peak in Pakistan:-
First successful winter expedition to Gasherbrum-II 2010/2011led by Mr. Simone Moro Organized by Hunza Guides Pakistan
On February 2, Mr. Simone Moro, Denis Urubko and Cory Richards, became the first climbers ever to summit one of Pakistan’s 8,000-meter peaks in winter when they reached the summit of Gasherbrum II (26,360 feet).
In a three-days push from base camp, Simone Moro, Cory Richards and Denis Urubko completed the first winter ascent of Gasherbrum-II. On February 2 the team reached the summit of Gasherbrum-II (8035m) in the remote Karakorum Range in northwest Pakistan.
