The Choimus Festival, also known as Chitirmas, is an annual winter celebration held by the Kalasha people. This vibrant festival features traditional dances, foods, and prayer chants dedicated to the Balomain spirit. Lasting several days, it attracts both locals and tourists who enjoy dancing around bonfires to the rhythm of drum beats and savoring locally brewed mulberry wine.

Women play a significant role in the festivities, wearing traditional black robes and elaborate headwear. The festival culminates with tribal elders gathering on hilltops to witness the sunrise of the new year, followed by goat sacrifices to the Goddess Jastak at the Jastarkhan temple.
