Tirich Mir Base Camp Trek

Trek right into the heart of the high Hindukush mountains to the base camp of Tirich Mir 7708m, known as Babu Camp 4724m in honor of our veteran guide Babu Mohammed. En route, you’ll encounter impressive 7000m summits like Noshaq 7492m and Istor Nal 7403m, among others.

The Hindukush lies beyond the reach of the monsoon and is a deserted, arid landscape visited by very few. In contrast, the scenic Tirich Valley is very fertile and populated with several small villages.

A spectacular drive to Uthul takes us to the jump-off point, and trekking across Zani Pass 3886m provides excellent views of the Hindukush and Hindu Raj ranges. Passing through the villages of Atak and Bandak, we arrive at Shogor, at the foot of the Tirich Glacier.

Asumbar Hoghost links Asumbar village in Ishkoman with Dal Sandhi in Yasin, offering an easy trek through diverse linguistic landscapes. The trail passes through flowery meadows, lakes, and lush forests of cedar, pine, and birch, providing diverse scenery and scenic beauty without being overly strenuous.

They make offerings to several gods: Sajigor, the highest deity, is in charge of everything: Surisan protects the cattle, Goshedoi milk products, and praba fruit. Most of the Kalash are pale skinned, and some of them even have fair hair and blue eyes, all of which give rise to the usual legend that they are descended from the followers of Alexander.

Asumber And Punji Pass Trek

We commence our journey from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, towards Gilgit via the Babusar Pass at 4173m. Traveling through the Babusar Pass or on the Karakorum Highway is an unforgettable experience. Upon reaching Gilgit, we head north towards the historic Assumbar Valley. Asumbar Hoghost is among the easiest passes to traverse in the Karakorum and Hindukush ranges.

This trek is distinguished by its linguistic diversity, with Shina, Khowar, Whaki, and Burushaski spoken along the trail. Typically, this trek is combined with at least one other. The Panji Pass trek, Punji Pass at 4680m, connects the head of the Yasin Valley to Ghotulti in Ishkoman. The pass derives its name from a distinct cairn (known as “Punji” in Burushaski). Additionally, it is referred to as Ishkoman Haghost by Darkot villagers and occasionally as Ishkoman Pass (similar to the Asumbar Haghost to the south).
