Rash Lake Trek

Rash Lake /Rash Phari- Rash Phari means sparkling Lake. It is one of the most recommended treks for those who want to have a first time trekking experience with lifelong excitement. We walk on glaciers, through villages to a look at the real life of those living at footsteps of mighty glaciers, along the irrigated terraced fields with the impressive view of the mighty Karakorum Mountains from the summit of Rush Peak 5098m. It is the junction of two famous glaciers of Barpu and Bualter. It is interesting that local legends talk about the gender of these glaciers of being male and female and also about their meeting and the birth of the new glaciers. Our trek starts at Hoper, a marvelous valley with green fields and fruit orchards which is also famous for its potato seeds which are exported to other parts of Pakistan especially in Northern Areas. If you have enough skill you can climb Push Peak.

Best Time for Rash Lake is from May to October

Batura Werthum Pass Trek

The trek start from China camp and end in Ramanj village after crossing Werthum Pass 5147m. It takes 45 minutes from the high camp to Top. The pass has 20-to-25-degree slopes on both sides and a permanent 3m to 4m vertical cornice on its north side. Use a rope belay while breaking through the cornice and cutting steps in the ice to reach the talus below the pass. The pass is more difficult before mid-July when there are more snow and a larger cornice.

Batura, the most accessible and fourth longest Karakoram glacier, stretches west from the Karakorum highway for 56km. the trek’s exceptional scenery includes 14 peaks higher than 7000m and huge ice floes plummeting more than 4000m from the Batura Wall to the glacier. Most of the trek is through ablation valleys and along streams. With almost no steep segments, it affords gradual acclimatization and presents no major difficulties. Even the trek’s two glacier crossings are relatively easy. Trekkers also get a glimpse in the unique way of life of Passu villagers, who tend livestock in the summer pastures along the glacier’s north margin.

This trip is a fascinating experience of an easy stroll along with a flower-strewn gully between the lateral moraine of Batura Glacier and the mountains. It provides breathtaking views of high Peaks like Ultar 7388, Shispare 7611m, Passu peak 7284m, Karun Koh (7164m), and others in the Shimshal region. From Fatimahil you can have an unforgettable view of the formidable North face of Batura massif. After halfway between Kukhil and Guchsum is the wide plateau of Shelmin where the Urthum brook flows from the North. This is a much tougher route than Kilik or Mintaka but not a technical one. The scenery will simply sweep you off your feet.
60 Km long Batura Glacier, one of the longest glaciers, is nestled between some of the beautiful high mountains of the world. Most of the trek is an easy stroll along the flower-filled ablation valley between the lateral moraine and the mountain and includes a crossing of the glacier.

This trek is especially recommended for those who intend to do short walks for one to five days. It has varieties for those as well who take interest in long treks of up to ten days. However, a round trip starting at Borith Lake and concludes at Batura near Passu is considered a rewarding walk. Most parts of this trek are easy with wild followers and great summer pastures. The only difficult part is grossing glacier. The panoramic views of Batura 7785m, Passu 7284m & Shisper Peak 7611m is superb. You will meet very friendly Wakhi people with their cattle in summer pastures who offer yogurt, buttermilk & fresh milk etc. to all visitors.

Hon Pass and Rakaposhi Base Camp Trek

Rakaposhi trek is located within the Rakaposhi Range in the region of Nagar valley. It is also an opportunity to see the local culture of the mountain people. There are summer settlements in this trekking route, local people with their cattle (sheep, goats, yaks and cows etc.). There are pasturelands on the whole trek only on the top have the glacier moraine, it takes 2-3 hours easy walk to cross the moraine. It is just like Nepal but there are no lodges, therefore, we are arranging the camps for the portage we use the animals. From Minapin village the path follows the irrigation channel and crosses the river on a good bridge. It then follows the River before ascending steeply through woods to a summer settlement knows as Bungidas. Higher up is the smaller summer settlement of Hapakun with good camping.
